The My Letters and Sounds Mnemonics pack contains 49 full-colour Phase Two and Phase Three mnemonics.
The A4 mnemonics can be used as memory-aids to help children learn grapheme–phoneme correspondences (GPCs).
Single-letter mnemonics are designed to help children remember the shape of a letter and its associated sound. The object in the picture starts with the target sound and provides a visual cue to the shape of the letter. The mnemonics can also be used to demonstrate correct letter formation, alongside the letter-writing patters given in the My Letters and Sounds Reception Teacher’s Handbook.
The mnemonics for the Phase Three digraphs and trigraphs are designed to help children remember the new sound associated with a particular group of letters. They show the two- or three-letter grapheme alongside a picture of an item that contains the associated sound.
